Times Treason

  time is a fickle thing
  one of passing and more
  a trust built slowly
  started long before
  like the friend
  who accompanys you
  through lifes long way
  through good and bad times
  with each passing of the day

  a comfortable friend
  leaned upon in hope
  cowered from in fear
  desired when in lust
  constant companion
  taught one to cope
  turn tunes to ear
  builds up its trust
  up until the end

  the treason of time
  as time stops
  and life closes its door
  this fickle thing
  stopping forever more
